Peter G. Brown Educational Scholarship – Greg Kapelouzos

We are excited to announce the 2026 Peter G. Brown Scholarship recipient!

This year’s award goes to Greg Kapelouzos, son of Peter Kapelouzos, a Route Service Representative at Mickey’s Linen since 2008. Greg will be heading to DePaul University in Chicago this fall, where he’s been accepted into the honors accountancy program to dual-major in finance and accounting.

Beyond the classroom, Greg has spent his high school years giving back to his community. He has volunteered with Project Hope, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, and with Cradles to Crayons, helping provide essentials to children in need. He has also worked alongside his church to raise funds for its food pantry. On top of it all, Greg competed on his high school’s soccer and basketball teams.

Mickey’s Linen is proud to award Greg the $7,500 scholarship, payable directly to DePaul University, to support his education as he begins this next chapter.

About the Peter G. Brown Educational Scholarship

Since 1945, Peter G. Brown has been the guiding force behind Mickey’s Linen.

As a young man, Peter faced many adversities. Not only did his parents emigrate to the United States from Greece and barely speak English, but his father passed away when he was nine years old, leaving him with the responsibility of helping support his mother and three sisters. Since this occurred during the Great Depression, he had to work and could not further his education. When the United States entered WWII, Peter joined the army to fight for our country. He returned from the war in 1945 and continued his career at Mickey’s Linen.

The Peter G. Brown Educational Scholarship was established to provide additional opportunities for young men and women so they may have greater educational opportunities in life.
