The Peter G. Brown Educational Scholarship is to be awarded not only for the graduating senior’s outstanding scholastic achievement, but also for their participation in extra curricular activities and community involvement.  The 2011 Peter G. Brown Scholarship Gold Scholarship of $5000, is proudly awarded to Brian Bychowski, son of Chicago Route Service Representative, Brian Bychowski, and his wife, Christine.

As a senior at CICS Northtown Academy, Brian was not only on the honor role and ranked in the top 10% of his class, he was also involved in volunteer work and other extra-curricular activities.  Most impressive is that Brian was a Northtown Academy Student Leader – we all know that the world needs more young leaders today!  Some of Brian’s special leadership positions include, but are not limited to: participating in a business internship at UBS, Copy Editor on the school yearbook, a Librarian Assistant, Student Government Advisory Representative… and the list goes on!

Brian was also involved in other extracurricular activities, including football, Science Club, Track and Field, Journalism and Animal Rights Club. No wonder comments by Brian’s teachers who wrote recommendation letters made mention of: Brian “goes the extra mile”, Brian is a “stand-up gentleman”, Brian  “demonstrates professionalism and social maturity” and Brian is “an individual who never fails anyone else because he never fails himself, regardless of how high he sets the bar”.

Mickey’s Linen couldn’t think of a better way to honor Peter G. Brown than by presenting the Peter G. Brown Educational Scholarship to Brian Bychowski -- we are extremely proud that Brian will be receiving the scholarship award that bears the Peter G. Brown name.  Brian posses the qualities the Scholarship Committee looks for in graduating seniors: discipline in academics, diligence in giving back to the community, strong drive and perseverance, respected by their teachers, involved and a hard working student.  Congratulations Brian, as well as the Bychowski  family – you deserve to be proud!
